Fragment of an Early Saxon copper alloy Small-long brooch of Leeds square-head (plain) type, the headplate and a stump of the bow only, with a single pin lug amongst the remains of the iron spring on the reverse. The front of the headplate is featureless, though a small lobe projects from the centre of the slightly concave top edge. Extant length 20mm. Width 21mm. c.480 - c.530.

Incomplete Late Saxon copper alloy tongue-shaped strap-end (Thomas Class E, Type 1), in very abraded condition, attachment-end missing. The alloy is purplish on the surface. There are the remains of nine openwork apertures (upper two broken), set symmetrically around a central calyx with curled tendrils in debased Winchester style. Extant length 34mm. Width 18mm. Weighs 4.23g. 10th-11th century.

An incomplete circular gold and garnet cloisonné setting, probably once part of a larger composite object. The gold base-plate is circular and plain on the reverse. In the centre is a circular depression and the remains of a rivet shank. Blobs of gold close to the rivet most probably represent the remnants of a gold tube forming the means of attachment to another object (see Discussion). Late Saxon copper alloy disc brooch, in very abraded and corroded condition, with no trace of decoration surviving on the convex face. On the concave reverse there is the stump of a single perforated pin lug aligned with the outside edge and containing a corroded remains of the iron pin. The transverse catchplate has been squashed outwards to project slightly beyond the outside edge (probably in antiquity). An Anglo-Scandinavian hybrid arrangment, see Kershaw 2013, figs. 2.1 and 2.2. Diam. 23mm. 1.5mm thick. Weight 4.18g. 10th-century.
