Dark brown flint with darker streaks, of good quality, scraper. Oval scraper with a prominent bulb of percussion suggesting hard hammer strike detaching it, and with short abrupt retouch around its curved edge. Of this, some was executed from the dorsal aspect but some, to judge from the shockwave patterns, was also executed from the ventral side. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Length: 35.8mm, Width: 35.5mm, Thickness: 8mm, Weight: 8.45gms.

Probably lead alloy forgery based on an inscribed silver unit of the Corieltauvi, possibly imitating ABC 1896 'Vepo ring silver half unit', though the poor definition of the horse in particular is more akin to the discombobulated state of the beast appearing on gold staters; the size, thickness and weight also have more in common with the gold Iron Age coins than the silver. Cast cruciform brooch fragment, comprising the lowest part of the bow, a collared moulding, a horse head foot with prominent eyebrows and eyes, and a trilobate or shamrock-leaf terminal which springs in two halves from the lower part of the horse head. A thin folded catch plate projects from the back, and there are a pair of deep grooves alongside it. Copper alloy coin. Paul Cannon kindly identifies this as a coin of the East India Company, and comments as follows: 'Despite its poor preservation I am sure that this is a very worn one pice coin of the Bengal Presidency (East India Company) and was minted in Calcutta. Coins of this type were struck (in large numbers) in 1809, 1817, 1829 & 1831. They only differ in small variations of size and weight.
