A cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame from the post-Medieval period, Circa 1550-1650 . The frame has two roughly D-shaped sides with pointed pin rests, separated from one another by a central axis bar. This bar has an oval cross section, whereas the rest of the frame has flat upper surfaces that slope downwards and outwards. The pin is missing. The frame has a patchy green patina with the remains of black coating. Length of frame: 50.28 mm. Width: 21.30 mm. Thickness: 2.41 mm. Weight: 6.376 grams. Reference: Ross. A complete Post Medieval copper alloy D-shaped buckle frame, likely (c. 1250-1500). The buckle consists of a a D-shaped frame, the inner edge of the rounded side of the frame has been expanded and has a shallow pin rest; the pin is missing. Both faces of the frame are undecorated and the reverse is largely flat with a bevelled inner edge. It measures 20.3 mm long, 17.0 mm wide, 2.6 mm thick and weighs 1.7 g. This buckle has been dated based on comparable examples from Read (1996) p.18.

A cast copper alloy object, possibly the outer part of a buckle frame, perhaps of 12th century date. The object is now bent double and has a narrow bar extending below a short rounded projection. On one face are traces of scrolling decoration (of uncertain manufacture) which merge into leaf-like forms.

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy buckle, dating AD 1330-1400. The buckle has an oval frame with forked projections on one side that acted as dividers in between two plates. All that remains of this item is a single fork from the dividers and part of the oval frame. There is a lip on the frame where the pin would have rested. Moulding between the frame and the divider arm indicate a decorated panel would have separated the frame from the plates. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed and is now slightly bent with a small rounded knop at either end of the strap bar. Both faces of the frame are undecorated, the reverse is flat and the pin is missing. It measures 16.3 mm long, 12.3 mm wide, 2.0 mm thick and weighs 1.1g. This buckle has been dated based on comparable examples from Read (1996) No.54.

A complete Post Medieval copper alloy double-looped sub-annular buckle frame (c. 1650-1720). The frame is oval with a straight central recessed strap bar, creating two D-shaped loops. The frame is undecorated on both faces and the reverse is bevelled on the interior edge. There is iron corrosion products on the strap bar, indicating that this buckle once had an iron pin, which is now missing. It measures 29.6 mm long, 21.9 mm wide, 2.9 mm thick and weighs 4.9 g. This buckle has been dated based on comparable examples from Read (1996) No.278.

A complete Post Medieval copper alloy asymmetrical buckle frame (c. 1575-1700). The frame consists of one D-shaped loop on one side of the strap bar, this loop has an an expanded inner edge, creating a rounded knop on the interior. The other side of the frame is sub-rectangular, with a trefoil-shaped outer edge. Both of the outer edges parallel with the strap bar have a moulded groove. The pin is missing. An incomplete copper-alloy D-shaped buckle frame with offset and narrowed bar of Meols Type 2 and plate of folded sheet type of Medieval date.
