A hexagonal end-cap probably from a knife handle, dating to the Medieval period. Cast with an opening presumably to accept a knife blade tang. The opening is filled with corroded iron, probably remnants of the blade. The sub rectangular base is flat and flared at the bottom. Each of the eight facets is decorated with four incised ring and dot designs. The item is a mid green colour and in good condition.

Cast copper alloy flat quatrefoil mount in the form of a rosette cross with four rounded petals alternating with pointed leaves that extend as knops beyond the curved edges. Each petal is decorated with a set of raised concentric circles and the four sets surround a central incised annulet. There is also an annulet at the base of each pointed knop, which alternates with the outer curves of the two circles on either side. Cast copper alloy double-looped sub-oval shoe buckle frame with a narrowed strap bar. The frame has rounded ends and concave, bifid sides; it has a flat base and a convex profile in cross-section. On similar examples of this buckle type, the bar often has a folded sheet copper-alloy plate with attachment stud to fix the buckle to a shoe, but on this example there is no plate. On either end of the bar, there are three punched circles, and each outer edge of the frame has a row of four recessed circles. A Roman copper alloy fitting which is possibly from a knife. The fitting or ferrule has a sub rectangular cross section at one end which forms a bulbous head above a pronounced ring. This separates it from the other end which is of reduced diameter and has a hexagonal cross section. The ferrule or fitting exhibits four triangular cells either side of the central ring which are arranged sequentially. The item contains a corroded iron core which appears ovoid in cross section. An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper alloy cauldron leg, dating to between AD 1200 and AD 1800. The leg has an old break, and is D shaped in cross-section. The foot has a smooth, rounded design below a bulbous collar. The reverse side is flat and plain. The surface is worn and abraded, of a pale olive colour with areas of green patina and traces of black residue or lacquer. A similar item is published by Brian Read, History Beneath Our Feet (1995), page 95, No. 591. Length: 38.41mm. Width: 25.26mm. Thickness: 16.48mm. Weight: 47.28g.
