A silver-gilt lozenge shaped fragment of medieval date. It is not possible to say with certainty exactly what this object is or where it came from. The fragment is broken at one end of the length of the lozenge. Both faces and each side of the fragment are gilded. The faces are decorated with a metalworking technique called pointillé and show a quatrefoil petal in the centre with small flourishes surrounding the flower. This technique was popular in Northern Europe - particularly England and France - in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth century.

Fragment of Late Medieval silver-gilt finger ring, dating AD 1400-1600. Roughly half of the original ring remains. The band is D-shaped, with a moulded design on the outer surface. The decoration consists of five bands of raised pellets running down the centre with slightly raised border. There are also moulded hand motifs spaced regularly around the band, over the pellets. The hands may represent the wounds of Christ - it looks like that might be a wound in the centre hand. There could have been five spaced around the ring, representing the Five Wounds, which were thought to have pro…

Lead weight. Cast heater shield shaped weight with the cast relief motif of three leopards left on a raised central panel. The panel is surrounded by a lower pelleted border with a low external ridge. Patinated overall, and scratched on front in antiquity - i.e. below the patina. As the finder kindly observes, the mass indicates this is likely to represent one half an averdepois pound. A moulded rectangular hole at the top of the raised panel was probably made using a nail as a former, and may have been intended to permit the use of this object as a steelyard poise.
