A cast copper-alloy object, possibly a simple brooch frame of Medieval date. It is annular in form and D-shaped in section with flat back and rounded front face. To one side is a slight U-shaped constriction that has possible traces of iron corrosion, perhaps a constriction for a pin. The entire object measures 17.11mm in diameter, 2.18mm in thickness, and 1.21g in weight. This is probably a simple annular brooch frame that is likely to date to the Medieval period, c.13th-15th centuries AD.

A copper-alloy lug handle from a vessel of Medieval date. It is formed from a rectangular plate of copper-alloy folded to produce a front and back plate with curved upper edge. The plates are pierced at bottom centre by a separately cast copper-alloy rivet with flattened head, which would have held the handle in place at the rim of the copper-alloy vessel. At the top centre of the plates is a second circular perforation, presumably to enable attachment of a now missing handle. The entuire object measures 37.65mm in length, 31.12mm in width, 1.14mm in thickness at plate, and 18.79g in …

A silver-gilt lozenge shaped fragment of medieval date. It is not possible to say with certainty exactly what this object is or where it came from. The fragment is broken at one end of the length of the lozenge. Both faces and each side of the fragment are gilded. The faces are decorated with a metalworking technique called pointillé and show a quatrefoil petal in the centre with small flourishes surrounding the flower. This technique was popular in Northern Europe - particularly England and France - in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth century.

Medieval to Early Post-medieval complete cast copper alloy hinged plate possibly from a casket dating 1300 - 1600 AD. The length is 26mm, the width is 14mm and the weight 2.14g. At the other end there is a small rectangular knop that is flat on one face and slightly protrudes on the other face. About mid-way along each side there is a semi-circular recess with a rounded tip. These are similar to knops. At one end on to the tubular protrusion there is a small circular hole with corroded ri…
