A complete lead spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both surfaces are decorated with raised lines radiating from the central perforation resulting in irregularly sized trapezoidal cells with between two and three pellets within each. The metal is a mid whitish-brown colour and is worn. The spindle whorl is 28.4mm in diameter, 11.5mm thick and weighs 31.8g. The perforation is 9.6mm in diameter. An incomplete Roman copper alloy colchester-derivative brooch, dating AD 43-100. The brooch is formed of a bow, which is broken half way down, and a hollow crossbar to hold the springs. The springs, pin and the lug that would have connected the springs to the crossbar are no longer present. The brooch has a dark green pattination. The brooch is decorated with a large central ridge down the bow, with smaller ridges either side. Fragment of a silver-gilt, stirrup shaped finger ring dating to the Medieval period. The finger ring is missing part of the hoop and the stone setting from the bezel. The hoop is slender and rectangular in section. The bezel is triangular in plan with an ovoid collet which would have contained a stone, now missing. A four petalled flower separates the bezel from the hoop and a shallow incision runs circumferentially around the centre of the hoop, with simple punches either side. Two silver Roman expanding, wound-wire bracelets. Each bracelet is formed of a single piece of silver wire, bent to form a loop with the ends wound around for attachment. There are three-four coils on each wound terminal, which form both a decorative and functional purpose. The objects have a mid grey pattination and are slightly distorted. A similar bracelet is found recorded on the PAS database (PAS-265114), though appears to have a single wound terminal.
