A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle of Medieval date. It has oval shaped loops with expanded rectangular outer edges that are decorated on their front faces with with multiple transverse grooves. Hinging around the bar is a separate copper-alloy buckle plate that is rectangular in form with rectangular pin slot, folded to create a rectangular upper and lower plate both of which have single circular rivet holes at the centre of the attachment end. The plate is now bent due to post-depositional damage, and the pin is missing due to old breaks. The buckle measures 13.23mm in width (…
