Copper alloy 'paper-clip rivet' sheet vessel repair. Measuring 14 x 11.2mm. Likely to date to the Medieval or Post-Medieval period, but some are earlier, such as examples from Late Saxon contexts at Flixborough (Rogers, N. in Evans and Loveluck 2009, 115-7). See also Egan (1998, The Medieval Household, 176). Circa 1300-1700 AD

Incomplete cast copper alloy single loop composite buckle frame. The oval shaped loop is angled to a shallow point at its outside terminal end. The narrower parts of both spacer forks have been lost to old breaks. Nothing remains of the front and back plates that would have originally been soldered to the frame. Dated 1250-1450 AD.
