A complete but misshapen and fractured Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550). This thimble is domed and the thick walls have a continuous spiral of hand drilled circular pits that spiral in a clockwise direction from the base towards the crown. The rim is plain and thickened and there are no manufacture marks. The thimble is matt purplish brown. Height: 19.6mm; width: 24.4mm; thickness: 17.1mm; thickness at rim: 1.0mm. Weight: 5.74g. Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle plate of thick sheet in the form of a bird, body and wings separated by roughly keyhole-shaped spaces. There is a pin slot, no frame recesses, and a tiny spiked projection on both sides next to fold. Very faint decoration, possibly punched triangles surround the rounded ends of these spaces. Fragment of a Late Saxon copper alloy comb pendant in battered condition. The curving edge of an aperture and stumps of four teeth are present. 30.3 x 14.6 x 2.2mm. Metal comb pendants of this type are of East Scandinavian or Baltic origin. A comparison with better-preserved examples indicates that the form and decoration are in the Ringerike style of the 11th century. Three other fragments have been found in Norfolk (Brampton, NMS1801, HER 35055, Hedenham, NMS-9FB923, HER 40305 and Oxborough, HER 1021). The rounded end depicts a scallop shell (Spencer's type II) on one side and a crowned W on the other, both below a double transverse rib.
