A complete and worn Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), minted at London. Possibly Class 10cf, 1305-1310 (North 1991: 32, refs: 1040-1043). Obverse: EDWAR ANGL DNS hYB; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown and wedged drapery Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LON/DON; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant Diameter: 17.9mm. Weight: 1.18g. DA=12:9. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.

Obverse: [ ]AnGL DnS hYB (Lombardic Ns; annulet stops); Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LOn/DOn (Lombardic Ns); Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant Diameter: 18.0mm. Weight: 0.91g. DA=12:12. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London. The coin was bent through 180° when found.

A silver penny of Edward II, (1307-1327). Obverse: EDWAR ANGL DNS HYB; crowned bust facing, double struck. Reverse: CIVITAS CANTOR; long cross dividing legend, three pellets in each quarter. Class 10cf5a1, due to the crown style, wireline C hair. However the I and N on the reverse have incurved uprights. Colon terminal stops after hYB. Initial mark is a cross pattee. AD 1309-10. North no. 1043/1
