Short medieval tinned copper alloy composite tongue-shaped strap end with a full-width spacer, front and back plates. Single rivet at the concave attachment-end and another at the terminal above the concave-sided pointed knop. The face has a short engraved median line. A scrap of cloth survives between the plates. Length 18.5mm. Width 14.5mm. Length of spacer 10mm. 14th century.

An incomplete cast silver-strap-end, partially gilded and with niello inlay. The fragment comprises the terminal of the strap-end, totalling approximately one-third to one-half of the original object. At the opposite end is a jagged transverse break, but otherwise the strap-end is well-preserved and of fine quality. The strap-end is decorated on both faces. One face features Winchester-style decoration cast in high relief. A very worn cast copper-alloy Early-Medieval/Anglo-Saxon strap end of Thomas Class A. It is sub-oval in form with convex sides that taper to a stylised zoomorphic terminal. The attachment end has a split terminal with central triangular notch either side of which are single circular rivet holes that hold in place separately cast copepr-alloy rivets with flattened heads. At the base is a stylised animal head terminal with large sub-oval ears, projecting brow and tapering, flattened snout. A copper alloy strap end of Early Medieval or Medieval date. The strap end is broadly rectangular in plan with an open upper end and a rounded lower terminal. It is formed of a single outer sheet of thick copper alloy with a central void to accomodate the strap (not surviving). The front bears moulded decoration forming foliate designs.
