A cast copper alloy terret ring, dating from the late Iron Age or early Roman period, about 100 BC - AD 100. The object is circular in plan with an oval sectioned hoop. Either side of the curved bar is a collar which does not meet at the underside of the hoop. It is unclear whether the collar has worn away at this point or if it is by design. Below the bar is an incomplete small flared 'skirt' measuring 18.47mm in length and 12.64mm in width. Beneath the 'skirt' is a rough oval projection which appears to be integrally cast. Part of a copper alloy probable Iron Age ring-headed pin dating from about 800 BC - AD 42. The artefact is probably part of the decorative head of a ring-headed pin, but no parallel for one of this design has been identifed. The object consists of two circular, shallow concave discs connected at the apexes by an integral sub-rectangular sectioned arch of copper alloy. One disc is slightly larger than the other (12.3mm and 10.8mm in diameter). They may have contained some other material, such as coral or enamel, though no trace of such material remains.
