Record ID: PUBLIC-2B105A
Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Published
A long, curved primary blade of dark brown flint. The ventral face has a small bulb of percussion and ripples across the face. The dorsal face is smooth and covered in an off-white/grey cortex. There is no further working on the blade. It is likely that this is debitage from axe or core production and likely to date from the early Neolithic to the early Bronze Age.

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: York
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A complete flint semi-circular scraper of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface is slightly concave due to a large negative scar with ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end and short parallel flaking along all but the proximal edge which has been abruptly blunted. All edges have fine semi/abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is smooth and slightly convex due to a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.

Object type: SPEAR
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete heavily patinated flint possible spear point/head of Neolithic date. It is missing the tip.
It is leaf-shaped, bifacially worked with moderate edge damage. There are parallel scars on the dorsal face and a prominent bulb on the ventral face. The proximal end is thick and the overall size of the flint appears too large to be an arrow head.
This possible spear measures 44.49mm in length, 25.81mm in width, 8.43mm in thickness, 8.06g in weight.
There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-992EB6).

Three Neolithic to Bronze Age hard hammer struck flakes:
- secondary, of unpatinated dark grey flint, with some edge damage or use wear to the thin edges of one lateral edge. 63 x 33.5 x 10mm.
- blade-like flake, struck from a single platform of unpatinated mottled grey and brown flint with some fine use wear or damage to both lateral edges. 45 x 20 x 5.5mm.
- tertiary, of unpatinated brown/orange flint with some areas of edge wear or damage to both lateral edges. 48 x 35 x 9mm.

Two Neolithic to Bronze Age scrapers, both hard hammer struck:
- secondary, side, of unpatinated mottled brown flint with steep retouch forming the working edge. 37 x 35 x 12.5mm.
- tertiary, end, of unpatinated mottled dark grey flint with steep retouch mostly on the distal end. 39.5 x 35 x 10mm.

Object type: PLANO CONVEX KNIFE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age proximal fragment of a ground edge plano-convex knife, approximately half extant. The piece is broken transversely and the break lacks the gloss of age so this damage must be relatively recent.
The knife is made from a large tertiary hard hammer struck blade from a single platform core of mottled grey unpatinated flint. The left lateral edge (when viewed from the dorsal face) is ground and polished bifacially to form a straight cutting edge. The other lateral edge is finely retouched with short steep scalar flakes. Unusually there is no invasive p…

Neolithic tertiary flake struck from a multi-platform core of pale grey flint with mottled white patination and some spotty iron staining. Most of the edges are recently damaged.
