Cast copper alloy waisted buckle plate 'D' shaped with rounded end 13th to 15th century AD. The buckle plate has 3 rivet holes and the pin is intact on the buckle frame. They were used widely for horse equipment. Very similar to No 48 in Whtehead. R. 2003. Buckles 1250 - 1800. Greenlight. Witham, Essex. The length is 36mm, the width is 16mm and the weight 2.40g.

A cast copper-alloy spur rowel, probably dating from the post-Medieval period. The piece takes the form of a star with six equal-sized, tapering spikes radiating outwards from the centre, where there is a circular perforation. Each spike is of lozenge-shaped section and is separated from the next by a groove. Traces of gilding are visible on both surfaces of the rowel, which also has attached iron corrosion. Part of a copper-alloy Dolphin variant brooch, probably dating from the mid to late 1st century AD. This brooch is unusual in that it has a spring mechanism, but the form of the head has more in common with that of a hinged brooch. Only one of the subcylindrial wings survives intact, with a remnant of the second. This intact cylinder contains an iron axis bar, which is visible at the distal end and at the centre. A copper alloy Medieval (1350-1450) buckle frame of Egan's 'rectangular Meols Type C' with slightly convex sides with a ridge near each corner and a thick and bevelled outside edge with three filed grooves. The bar is offset and narrowed for the plate. The pin is missing but iron corrosion is visible on both sides of the bar. The buckle frame measures 19.86mm by 17.72mm and weighs 3.4g.

Early medieval gilt copper alloy mount, perhaps from harness or furniture, subsequently converted into a brooch with the addition of a pin lug and catchplate, and now in two pieces (break not ancient). In the centre a short bar links two halves, one circular with three lobes, the other trapezoidal with a lobe at each corner. In the centre of the former, within a recessed ring of curvilinear interlace, a round collet contains some pale yellowish material, probably fixative. The frame is a rectangular Meols Type C with slightly convex sides with a ridge near each corner and a thick outside edge with two filed grooves. The bar is offset and narrowed. The buckle frame measures 15.52mm by 14.95mm. The rectangular plate is formed of a bent sheet folded double, recessed for the frame with a gap for the pin. An Early Medieval probable gaming piece or possible weight. The item cast in one solid piece and is irregularly semi- spherical with a flat base and six knops or nipples arranged in a square protruding from the top. The knops are of differing sizes and a now bent into irregular shapes. Gaming pieces of this type are Viking or Anglo-Scandinavian and are dated AD. c.800-1000. Similar examples can be seen on the database; DENO-646EE0 and LEIC-3BFC12. the gaming piece is 20.3mm long, 17.1mm wide, 14.1mm high and weighs 19.70 grams.

A sheet copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is sexfoil in form with domed centre and six evenly spaced domed lobes. At the centre is a circular rivet hole containing a separately cast cylindrical copper-alloy rivet. The entire object measures 14.81mm in width/diameter, 5.32mm in height, and 0.74g in weight. This mount is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD (as Egan and Pritchard, 1991: no. 1007).

An incomplete copper alloy fragment of a possible Colchester one-piece type brooch (c. 25-60 AD). The fragement appears to be the bow of a brooch with protrusions at the top of the bow creating a cruciform shape, there is another protrusion extending from the reverse of the brooch head. The bow is D-shaped in cross-section and tapers to a sharp point, however this appears to have been formed through breakage rather than intentional design. A copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date. It has rectangular front and back plates, separated by a rectangular spacer that is of equal width but only half the length of the plates. A copper alloy weight of probable Roman date, c. AD 43-410. The object is an irregular biconical shape in plan and circular in cross section. It is hollow and has an iron cylindrical core which appears to run through the center but which can only be seen at one end at the apex of the cone.
