Incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester Derivative brooch, pin and lower part of bow missing. There is a pair of moulded grooves at the outer ends of the bar, and a median rib on the round-section bow. The wings are tubular (cast and not folded) and at the rear there is a gap, set just off-centre, in which an incomplete four-coiled spring around an axis bar is visible, cf. Mackreth 2011, pl. 58, no. 12054. On one side of this gap there are two engraved grooves which run almost to the end of one wing.
