Incomplete post-medieval lead cloth seal, two-part, sub-circular. The matrix employed was too large for the blank, and as a result the outer part of some of the peripheral legend is missing. I ยท V and pellets with TAVN[TO]N SEARGE : around and between two circles of pellets // (rivet only) part of uncertain motif with ...IOH... around. Diameter 22.5 - 26mm. The Taunton textile industry was dominant in Somerset from the middle of the 17th century (Egan 1994, 50-1). See NMS-907FE8, a Taunton cloth seal found at Postwick, Norfolk (HER 34967).

A complete conical lead weight, possibly used as a spindle whorl or similar object of uncertain date.
It has a central circular aperture and a slightly flattened top and bottom face.
This spindle whorl measures 27.94mm in diameter, 16.05mm in height, 60.27g in weight.
There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (NLM-2FAC7F).
This is a relatively simple cast lead spindle whorl that could be of any date from the Roman period onwards.

Cast lead weight, trapezoidal in plan and triangular in profile with a flat rhomboidal base, which is slightly angled so that the weight is only just free-standing. Towards the upper apex of the weight is a central circular aperture that is 6 mm in diameter which would have been used to suspend the weight. The weight weighs 71.15 grams which equates to 2.5 ounces averdepois / avoirdupois.
Egan (2005) illustrates similar weights on page 164, Fig.161, Nos.846 & 850, which are dated from c.1530-1570 and c.1630-1650.

Medieval lead seal matrix, flat with an unpierced lug at the top. Circular, diameter 30mm. Thickness 4.4mm. On the reverse there is an engraved equal-armed cross immediately below the lug. A fleur-de-lis. + S' hENRICII . FILII . ALANII (Seal of Henry son of Alan). The letters L lack basal cross-bars and are indistinguishable from the letter I, though longer. 13th century.

Roman to Post Medieval (1st to 19th century) unidentified object: The artefact is a large lead oval ball with a flattened upper and lower edge with multiple, equi-distant six circular iron studs around the side, one iron stud on one flat surface and two on the lower face. The iron is in a stable condition and the lead has a matte light grey/cream coloured surface. It measures 43.69mm diameter, 28.41mm thick and weighs 230g.

An incomplete lead rectangular probable cloth seal of Medieval to Post-Medieval date. Only part of one face survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
It is flat. On the front face are two lines of possible lettering; []VIIII or []MII with a cross pattee VII below. The back face is undecorated.
This cloth seal measures 15.24mm in length, 10.48mm in width, 1.43mm in thickness, 1.16g in weight.
