A borer or piercer fabricated on a pebble of dark brown flint. The flint pebble has been subject to a single strike to thin one end of it. There is no bulb of percussion evident but percussion ripples can be seen on the exposed face. The rest of the flint pebble is covered in a thick, off- white cortex The pebble has been finely and steeply pressure-flaked at the thinned end on two sides to produce a narrow point suitable for boring or piercing. The tip of the point has been broken off and lost. This object is probably of Mesolithic date.
