Part of a post-medieval copper alloy pocket sundial or ring dial. Both ends are broken, one across two holes for the attachment of a suspension ring, and the fragment has been bent and distorted so that it is opened out. Either side of a median slot has been marked out with transverse lines next to the intial letters of the months of the year, although much is obscured by wear and corrosion. See Shoesmith 1978, 101-8 and Rogerson and Ashley 1987, 24, 26, fig. 22, no. 33. Width 11mm. Surviving length 74mm. 2mm thick. 17th -18th century.

Band of worn engraved 'feather decoartion' (pairs of longitudinal lines flanked by multiple oblique lines) along attachment-end. Length 32mm. Width 23.5mm. Contains scrap of leather. Late 15th - 16th century.
