Undated copper alloy possible ingot, crudely cast sub triangular-sectioned (transverse break, 2 joining pieces), ends slightly angled back from flat face. Ancient although undatable. Length 69mm. Width 11mm. Thickness 4.5mm. Weight 195.4 grains / 12.66g.

A complete cast copper alloy alloy toggle of uncertain dating, but probably Bronze Age to Roman. The object is circular in plan and 'dumbell' or H-shaped (on it's side) in cross section. It comprises of two convex, circular ends, that are D-shaped, that sit either end of a central cylindrical shank. It resembles a cotton reel. No decoration is present on either end. The object measures 11.7 mm in diameter, and is 16.1 mm long. It has a thickness of 5.1 mm and weighs 5.3 g. Abrasion caused by movement within the plough soil could have resulted in the loss of some of the origin…
