A copper alloy Roman disc brooch dating to the period c. AD 80 - 200. The brooch is circular in plan, but has been damaged and is missing c. 15% of the disc. The obverse is heavily corroded with an uneven surface which may contain traces of enamel in an uncertain pattern. The reverse is smooth and flat. It features two lugs positioned opposite to one another, the one being semi-circualr in shape with the remins of the copper alloy pin mount, the other consisting of the sub-rectangular catch plate which terminates in an old break. An incomplete copper alloy Roman trumpet head derivative brooch dating to the period c. AD 75 - 175. The brooch is broken into two fragments near the top of the bow. The upper portion (fragment A) consists of an incomplete circular loop projecting from the top of the trumpet shaped head. The cylindrical lugs project at a 90 degree angle from the underside of the head and feature an intact copper alloy pin bar with the pin still in situ. A late medieval to early post medieval sword or dagger scabbard chape missing its backplate. The chape has a crenellated top edge, nine cast holes, and radiating 'scallop-shell' grooves at the closed end, and a basal knop. There is evidence of silvering on the inside. Weight 15 g, height 43 mm, and width 32 mm. A similar example has been recorded on the database SUSS-EEA2E1
