The central element of the mount is a ring with scalloped right- and left-hand sides. Above and below this central ring is a T-shaped area, the upper of which has a countersunk central rivet hole and thickened top edge.

A medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy finger ring.
The ring consists solely of a circular hoop, with no shoulders or bezel present. Both of the parallel sides are marked by a raised rim with a groove on the inner side. A series of interlocking, triangular panels, defined by grooves, decorate the convex outer surface of the ring. Each upward-pointing triangle has been infilled with curved punch marks, creating a scale pattern.

A copper-alloy mount of medieval to post-Medieval date.
The head of the mount is rectangular in plan, of flat section and has moulded ropework edges. A central pellet is surrounded by at least one (possibly two) concentric rings. The integral rivet projects backwards from the centre of the underside of the head; this rivet has a circular cross section and tapers towards the damaged point.
