Incomplete tinned cast copper alloy sub-rectangular shoe buckle with rounded corners and a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The spindle is now missing and would have originally had attached to it a chape, with internal spikes, and probably a pitchfork tongue. The outer edges of the frame are expanded, as are the sections of the frame that hold the drilled holes for the spindle. The frame has a moulded curvilinear line around the outer edge, while the back of the frame is plain. An incomplete copper-alloy openwork decorative fitting dating to the second or third centuries AD. The mount comprises a flat oval plate decorated with three spirals of openwork decoration. A flat, rectangular plate extends from one end of the plate. Part of this plate is bent back on itself. This appears to be post-depositional damage. Corrosion products (possibly mineralised leather?) adhere to the upper surface of this rectangular plate, giving it a darker, discoloured appearance. A complete Medieval cast copper-alloy single-loop buckle (c. 1270-c. 1400).
The frame is roughly 'D'-shaped in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. It is convex at the front and flat at the rear. The outer edge has a central lip with a pin rest and the bar is rectangular in cross-section. It has a complete copper-alloy wire pin which is circular in cross-section.
This frame and pin have a matt green patina and are corroded in places.

A copper-alloy brooch from the medieval period, circa 1250-1400 AD. The brooch is lozenge shaped with trefoil projections at each angle and incurved sides. The frame is flat. The pin is attached through an aperture in one of the points of the lozengiform frame, below the trefoil terminal, and still articulates. Fragment of a cast copper alloy, Early Medieval, girdle hanger. All that survives is the upper part of the girdle hanger's shaft. The lower, truncated, section is flat, 6.6 x 2.9mm and no decoration can be seen. Above this the section becomes D shaped, 6.3 x 4.5mm and is decorated with four transverse grooves. At the end of the fragment are traces of the loop by which the hanger was suspended, this was a 2.0mm thick plate, set at 90 degrees the plane of the hanger and it bears possible traces of a hole. Fragment of an Early Medieval cast copper alloy brooch of Aberg's Group III. All that survives is the brooch's foot, in the form of an animal's head with prominent eyes set either side of a keeled section. The nostrils are 'scrolled' (comma-shaped) which allows this fragment to be placed in Group III. Behind the head is a collar-like moulding at which point the brooch was broken. The buckle frame has rounded corners and a narrowed and offset strap bar. The pin is a simple pointed strip of copper alloy rolled around the strap bar. There is a small trace of gilding on the pin.

A fragment of a possible lead alloy cloth seal, dating AD 1750-1850. The object is square, though appears to have been broken and shaped intentionally. The original shape is uncertain. One side is decorated with the initials IS, which are superimposed onto one another. There is a pellet border running around the edge. The object has a mid-dark grey pattination, with damage to the decorated side obscuring some of the motif.
Similar designs can be found on dyers' seals published in Egan (1994, nos. 283-285). No. 283 in particular originally had the same formation of the letters IS.…

Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has an oval head plate that is surmounted by a truncated loop. On the reverse are two rearward facing perforated lug that would have held the spring support bar, spring and pin are missing. The bow emanates from the head plate but is truncated soon after. A biconvex hollow silver button (SF1) was retrieved from context [2]. Made with the front and back soldered together, the button is now partly decayed with the two halves coming apart. At the front, the button is stamped with a five-petalled rosette (Tudor rose), while the flat back has two blow-holes and a simple soldered silver wire loop. There is also a maker's mark at the back, featuring a simple heater shield with the letters IE or IF above a star. The button measures 16mm in diameter.

An unidentified copper alloy object of uncertain date. the object is sub-ovate in plan with a large circular perforation through one end. It is undecorated and extremely worn.
The metal has a mid green patina. It is 18.6mm long, 12.4mm wide, 3.4mm thick and weighs 2.8g.
Due to a lack of diagnostic features it is not possible to identify or date this object any more closely.
This object was found close to YORYM-F0C9C7 and YORYM-F1BE89.

An incomplete lead alloy personal seal, probably from the 13th to 14th century AD. The incised design consists of a small cross within a circle, with the incription surrounding the motif + S' IONE (Seal of Joan). The reverse of the seal has a now broken attachment loop, of which only a small protrusion remains and is decorated with a moulded floral, or ribbon design. It measures 23.3 mm in diameter, 4.1 mm thick and weighs 8.6 g.
