Two rim sherds from a Medieval (AD c.1100-1300) Laverstock scratch-marked vessel. The fabric is hard, coarse and dark pink and grey in colour with a reduced core. There are frequent sand inclusions of various sizes and colours. The vessel was hand made. A combined weight is 98.66 grams.

A worn but complete and probably repaired copper alloy strap end of Early-medieval date (c. 9th century). The strap end is a Class A Type 2 (Thomas 2003), with a zoomorphic terminal and split end with two copper alloy rivets. A third rivet below appears to have been an attempt at securing the split-end, the reverse section of which is cracked across its width. The patina of both sections are the same as is the rivet material, suggesting that the crack may have occured during manufacture and the third rivet was inserted at this time. A damaged, cast copper alloy disc brooch of early Roman date, AD 100-200. The face carries the remains of a design that was probably of the triskele type though it is not possible to be certain as the brooch appears to have been damaged by fire. The face seems to have a white metal coating that has melted, pooling is a rounded ridge at one side of the brooch. The design may have been enamelled, but no evidence of this survives. An incomplete copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The object is roughly one half of a double looped buckle and is undecorated. The metal has a mid green patina and is worn. The buckle is 19.7mm long, 20.9mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 1.2g. Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead p.53 and are dated to circa AD 1350 - 1650.

A complete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The object is a sub-rectangular shoe or knee buckle with concave bifid sides and moulded roundels. Two rectangular ridged knops are present extending from each end of the frame. The strap bar and pin no longer remain and the reverse is concave and undecorated. The metal has a mid reddish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 22.4mm long, 15.2mm wide, 3.6mm thick and weighs 2.2g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.100, no.632 and is dated to circa 1660 - 1720.

An Anglo-Scandinavian cast copper alloy mount dating to the 11th century. The mount is in the form of an elongated oval and has a rivet hole at each end, both filled with iron. The reverse side of the mount is concave and the upper face is rounded. On the upper face is an openwork interlace design inspired by the late Viking Urnes style, but very devolved. An irregularly shaped piece of greensand, possibly originally a fragment of a quern (which suggests an Iron Age or Roman date) or perhaps Roman building material - in Winchester Greensand was used in the Roman period to strengthen the corners of building foundations (Helen Rees, Curator, Winchester Museums, pers. comm. September 2014). The fragment measures 220x170x95mm with several linear grooves on one face c.7mm in depth, suggestive of possible blade-sharpening.

A complete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle is a two-piece trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The pin rests are moulded and flanked by scrolled knops on the outer edge of each loop. The sides are bifid with scrolled knops around the spindle holes. The spindle and pin no longer remain. The metal has a mid greyish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 32.9mm long, 21.2mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 4.9g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.99, no.619 and is dated to circa AD 1660 - 1720.
