Incomplete cast tin alloy spoon bowl, missing its edge around the circumference of the bowl and everything but the base of the stem. The bowl would have originally been oval in plan and less lozenge-shaped, but still elongated in relation to the stem. Where the stem meets the bowl and the back, there is a raised oval area known as a 'drop' which was used to stengthen the spoon, which is 12 mm long and 10 mm wide. The remains of the stem extends 42 mm beyond the bowl. The broken stem is worn and corroded but appears lozenge-shaped in section and is 7 mm long, 6 mm wide and 4 mm thick. …
