An incomplete silver brooch, formed from a modified coin, a Gros Tournois of Louis IX of France, Medieval date (AD 1226-1270).
The Coin has been modified into a brooch via the addition of a silver loop on the reverse, a partial catchplate is also present but terminates in an old, abraded break. The pin is missing. The obverse of the coin has been gilded and retains this over its entire surface.

Neolithic stone axehead, 139mm long, 50mm wide and 37mm thick. The object is complete and in good condition and weighs 374grams. The axe has a triangular form and an eliptical section and is made from a form of fine granite. The butt end tapers gently to a rouned apex and the whole surface is gently rounded. At one side of the blade there is a trace of a facet and the blade itself is intact and finely worked. Around the blade is considerable poloishing, slightly more on one surface than the other.

An arm fragment from a cast copper-alloy rowel spur of post-medieval date (17th/18th century AD). The arm is curved and is D-shaped in cross-section, tapering in width to one end. Each end of the arm terminates with a break which occurred during antiquity. The external surface is decorated with deeply punched floral and vegetal motifs. This artefact is red-brown in colour with a green patina where survives internally. Description of the find
Many of the coins were buckled or fragmentary; probably damaged by ploughing, as their broken edges looked fresh. The latest coin is not fully legible but probably takes the hoard just into the joint reign of Honorius and Arcadius. If so this sole specimen would place Thruxton near the beginning of the sizable body of British siliqua hoards, which end with the period 395-402. Cast copper alloy sword belt fitting dating from the post-medieval period, that is c. AD1500-1700. It is complete, made from cast copper-alloy with two iron rivets still fused into place. It is heart-shaped with openwork decoration. The loop/hook at the end appears damaged/broken off.

Copper alloy plate brooch probably in the form of an eagle. This is oval with undulating sides; there is a triangular projection on the top right side. The face is decorated with two rows containing three cells, the left row is filled with red enamel and the right row is filled with blue enamel. On the reverse is the remains of a catch plate and the mount for the pin.

A copper-alloy fitting possibly from a ring buckle belt dating to the late second or third centuries AD. The mount comprises a flat, pelta-shaped plate from which extends rectangular plate which is hemispherical in section. The upper surface of the plate appears to have been tinned. The underside of the plate is plain although corrosion products (possibly mineralised leather) adhere to its surface. A copper-alloy object, possibly a harness loop dating to the Early Medieval period. The loop comprises a lozengiform loop which is oval in section. Each angle of the loop is decorated with a domed knop. Three are similar in size, with the fourth being slightly smaller. The loop measures 30mm in length and width and a maximum of 7mm in thickness. The internal diameter of the loop measures 11.7mm. The object weighs 14.7 grams.
A glass object similar to this was found during the excavation of the temple of Isis and Magna Mater in Mainz and therefore may imply this object is both Roman…

A copper-alloy decorative tack of uncertain date, but possibly Medieval rather than Roman. It comprises a circular plate, which appears slightly convex in section. Cast copper alloy disc brooch dating from the Late Saxon period, that is the 9th-10th century AD. It was made from cast copper alloy and shows a central collet which probably contained an opaque red pellet, apparently glass, surrounded by seven round blind-drilled holes or pits within a rocker-arm engraved border. the central glass setting is cracked and broken and only the base remains in the setting. On the reverse, a pair of parallel grooves runs between a single transverse pin lug, with some staining from a missing iron pin, and a transverse catchplate.

An incomplete copper alloy medieval (AD c.1200-c.1400) harness pendant suspension mount, missing a small fragment of one of its corner knops. It also has a small fragment of the pendant attached to it, consisting of just the suspension loop. Overall, it measures 32.6mm long, 23.8mm wide and 6.0mm thick. It weighs 4.98g. An incomplete gold finger ring of Medieval date (AD 1200-1350). The hoop is D shaped in section and distorted. The bezel is ovate in shape with raised and inverted edges, with fragments missing, which would have contained a gem or decorative stone (now missing).
The hoop is decorated externally with an incised inscription in Roman lettering, the lower aspect of which is obscured due to wear on the lower, outer portion of the object. The inscription is separated at either end from the rear of the hoop by a broad X and by the bezel in the upper portion.
