Incomplete cast copper alloy solid domed-head button culminating at the apex with a small pimple. Part of the shank survives to the point where it bifurcates to form the loop at which point it terminates in old breaks. Bailey; Buttons and Fasteners 500BC-AD1840 (2004) p28; No. 23-28. Late 15th-16th century.

Fragment of a medieval copper alloy annular brooch, distorted and with less than one third of the frame extant. A round perforation may be for the pin, and one break truncates a smaller hole near the inside edge. The frame is angled upwards towards the centre. A double line of very small punched dots follows the outer edge and a single line the inner. Several other dots are distributed between them. Thickness 0.3 - 0.8mm. External and internal diameters c.30 and 18mm. 13th - 14th century.

Incomplete Late Saxon lead alloy rectangular plate brooch. The front is decorated with moulded transverse ribs and pellets. On the reverse there is a double pin lug with the remains of an iron pin loop. The very straight transverse break is probably recent. The pin lug is a Scandinavian trait (Kershaw 2013, fig. 2.1). Extant length 13mm. Width 16.5mm. Thickness, excluding lug, 3mm. 10th century.

Probably Roman unfinished copper alloy nail or stud of the type that may have been intended for use with upholstery. There is a casting flash along one edge and a formless piece of solidifed molten metal adhering to the head and shank. The head is binconical (and not similar to those shown on Crummy 1983, fig. 116). The cross-section of the shank is onscured by the flash. There is straight end to the shank, which may have been snapped in antiquity. Length 22mm (19mm excluding the adherent metal). Diameter of head 8.7mm. Weight 3.62g. c.43 - c.409 AD.
