Roman to Post Medieval (1st to 18th century) unidentified artefact: The copper alloy artefact is a sub L-shaped pin with a curved bend in the centre, which may be accidental. One terminal of the pin is slightly flattened in profile forming a D-shaped section, and is folded over, but this fold may be due to damage. The other terminal is also slightly flattened for a D-shaped profile. Both terminals taper to a sharp point. There are possibly traces of a casting seam on the interior edge, towards the centre of the artefact. The centre is circular in section. The surface of the artefact i…

Cast copper alloy swivel or strap fitting dating from the early medieval period, that is the 11th or 12th century. The fitting appears complete but very worn. It is composed of two halves which are identical. They are mounted on an internal rivet and rotate freely, as can be seen in the finder's images taken from different angles. The cross-section of both segments is circular at the bottom/in the centre, but they each terminate in a small animal or possibly quadruped which sits on the apex of each half.
