A cast complete cast copper alloy dress hook dating to the Early Medieval period. The decoration is in the Anglo-Scandinavian Ringerike style and dates from the late 10th or first half of the eleventh century. The plate is sub-rectangular in plan with undulating sides and is flat. At the top of the plate is a projecting rounded lobe flanked on either side by two smaller lobes. Projecting from the base of the plate is a rectangular sectioned rearward facing hook. A fragment of a copper alloy early-medieval (AD c.500-c.600) S-shaped brooch. The fragment comprises the curved foot of the brooch and part of its catchplate. Overall, the fragment measures 19.8mm long, 18.6mm wide and 5.2mm thick. It weighs 2.77g. The fragment is flat (1.9mm thick) and sub-triangular in shape. Its edges are all broken or worn. There is a circular piercing near the one corner which appears to have not been broken. Around the piercing are stamped annulets. No other decoration is visible. An incomplete copper alloy zoomorphic strap end of middle to late Early Medieval date, c.750-950 (Anglo-Scandinavian). The strap end is of Thomas Class A, Type 4. Only the sub-triangular zoomorphic finial and a short segment of the main plate above this survives. The finial consists of a stylized animal head with a raised combined snout and brow in a Y-shape with circular indentations for eyes in the hollowed area to either side. Cast copper alloy miscast or burnt object, possibly dating from the early medieval period, that is c. 10th-12th century. Rather than spillage or casting waste, this object looks like either a mis-cast or a burnt object. Casting spillage is usually single faced, the back having been open to the air and plain; this object appears to have been double sided. The 'interlace' strands could by Urnes style but there is no sign of any zoomorphic element and the bosses are extremely uncommon for Urnes style decorated objects.
