An incomplete post-Medieval pressed sheet copper-alloy candle snuffer (c. 1800-c. 1900).
The snuffer was originally conical in form but is now squashed flat. Near the pointed apex there is a circular hole, 1.5mm in diameter, for a missing handle. Close to the lower edge is a separate copper-alloy spike, square in cross-section.
Decoration is in the form of six triangular panels, each containing a vertical row of contiguous hearts which gradually decrease in size as they ascend from the bottom towards the top.
This snuffer is drab brown with light green corrosion.
