A copper alloy nummus of Constantine I, (AD 307-337), dating to AD 322-3 (Reece Period 16), Reverse: SARMATIA DEVICTA; Victory advancing right, holding palm-branch and trophy, spurning captive. Mint of Arles RIC VII, p. 262, no. 257. Note there is a dot after CONSTAN in obverse legend. Probably an error. It might be that the die-engraver was about to cut another letter, but realised it needed to be on the right side of the head.

A copper-alloy Roman nummus of Constantine I (AD 306-337), dating to the period c.AD 321 (Reece period 16). BEATA TRANQVILLITAS reverse type depicting A globe on an altar inscribed VOT/IS/XX, three stars above. Mint of Trier. cf. RIC VII, p. 190, no. 303. The bust type and some of the lettering might suggest this coin is slightly irregular. The recorder has not seen the object and the record has been created from the photograph. Unfortunately it is not possible to obtain accurate measurements from this photograph.
