A possibly incomplete copper alloy Late Early-Medieval (1000-1100) zoomorphic strap fitting, possibly a strap-end or strap-distributor. It is possibly in the form of a bird's head, with the point opposite the widest end having a very worn rivet projecting from the underside. In profile this resembles a hooked beak. However it also appears to have moulded horns. It measures 26.92mm in length, 11.76mm in max.width and 3.92mm in max.depth, and weighs 3.58g. A Medieval to Post-Medieval (1400-1650) copper alloy double oval buckle frame complete with iron pin (corroded in situ) and decoration in the form of three grooved transverse lines at the middle of each outside edge. The outside edges also appear to have a slight (worn) lip and an angled inside edge. 
The buckle frame measures 31.34x26.84mm (internal dimension of each loop c.8.5x18.7mm) and weighs 7.82g. Buckles of similar design are dated by Whitehead (2003, p.53, nos.289 & 290) to the late 14th - early 17th century.

A Russian Customs bale seal. The seal is made of lead and has an irregular shaped piercing through it from one edge to the other. The seal has been stamped on one face with a partial inscription in Cyrillic script: [PIЖ]OПOPTA, translated as 'RIGA PORT ... 17(8)2. The seal is decorated with the Arms of the Russian State, to the left of which is Ю, and to the right of which is the letter T; these letters may mean 'Jute'. A complete copper alloy trade token dating from the Modern Period (AD 1800). The token is a one penny token struck in 1812 by the Union Copper Company of Birmingham. The obverse depicts two hands joined in the centre of the field. Above there is what looks like a quatrefoil flanked by two pellets, below is the date 1812. The legend reads: [ ]ION COPPER COMPANY BIRMINGHAM. The reverse has the words 'ONE PENNY TOKEN' struck in the field, the legend reads PAYABLE IN CASH NOTES. Blade from an iron scale-tang blade, possibly a dagger of probable early post-medieval date. The blade is single-edged and is damaged and incomplete. There is a slight neck below the tang which may have the location of a guard. The tang is broadly rectangular and tapers from the the blade end towards its terminal. A similar object, (a dagger) has been recorded from London (see LON-BF6593 on this database). The style and type of blade suggests these two objects are broadly comparable; a date of c. AD 1500-1700 is therefore suggested for this object.

An incomplete lead post-medieval (AD c.1600-c.1700) cloth seal, consisting of one disc and its rivet. The seal is lozengiform and measures 12.2mm long, 11.6mm wide and 3.0mm thick. It weighs 1.44g. The rivet on the reverse is sub-circular. The disc is stamped with a heraldic heater style shield (escutcheon) within a circle. The escutcheon has a fesse (central horizontal bar) charged with three crescents, two wolf heads above at dexter chief and sinister chief and one below at middle base.

A complete copper alloy hollow-cast sword pommel, dating to the late early-medieval period, c. 10th-11th century AD. The pommel is broadly triangular in plan and is of 'lobed' form. It consists of five rounded and curved lobes that increase in size towards the centre. The central lobe has a sub-circular aperture through which the tang of the sword would have originally passed. The underside of the object has an elongated oval opening which curves upwards towards the outer edges.
