Copper alloy contemporary copy of an as of Claudius I (AD 41-54), dating to c. AD 41-54 (Reece Period 2), possibly Minerva on the reverse. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. This example is a contemporary copy of those minted at the Lyon II, à la Petite Tête.

A fragment of a copper alloy medieval harness pendant, consisting of the attachment loop of the pendant, and the mount that would have attached it to the harness, but missing the main body of the pendant. Overall, it measures 22.3mm long, 7.7mm wide and 5.8mm thick. It weighs 2.40g.
The attachment loop is tear-drop shaped and measures 8.8mm long, 2.6mm wide and 5.9mm thick. It fits into a slot along the centre of the mount. A copper alloy post-medieval to Modern (AD c.1600-c.1850) crotal bell. Overall, the crotal bell measures 35.5mm high and 28.4mm in diameter. It weighs 23.01g. The suspension loop at the top is a rough rectangular lug, c.12.7mm high, 15.0mm wide and 3.9mm thick. The loop was cast as a loop rather than a solid lug to be drilled. This type of suspension loop starts to appear in the 17th century (Rod Blunt, Crotal Bells). A worn and corroded copper-alloy French jetton dating to the late medieval period. The obverse appears to depict the Shield of France while the reverse bears a variant of the single stranded cross flueretty. No exact parallel could be found for the reverse design on this jetton but a similar jetton has been recorded on this database (BH-96E4B), where the recorded suggests that similar illustrated by Mitchiner (1988; pp. 201) date this jetton to the 15th century, probably struck during the reign of Charles VII (c. 1447-1461 AD)..

A cast copper-alloy Early-Medieval/Anglo-Scandinavian strap end of Thomas' Class E Type 3. The plate is tongue shaped in form with flattened and incomplete split attachment end that preserves the remains of two corroded iron rivets. The front face of the plate has a vertical median rib with internal groove and irregular lateral nicks or grooves. To each side of the rib the front face has a vertical band of three punched ring and dot motifs, the back face is flat and undecorated. It measures 23.43mm in length, 15.46mm in width, 2.85mm in thickness and 3.29g in weight.

A copper alloy Roman (AD c.200-c.300) pelta belt mount, probably associated with the military. The mount is in a broad pelta or crescent shape. It measures 14.5mm long, 20.1mm wide and 5.7mm thick. It weighs 2.35g. The mount has two curved arms with incurving knopped terminals, and a central section projecting between the two arms. The opposite edge is straight and has a projecting knop at either end. On the reverse is a central lug with an expanded circular terminal. Without the lug, the mount measures 1.5mm thick.

A complete cast copper alloy object, possibly a horse plume holder of probable nineteenth century date. The object is broadly cylindrical with tapering sides and is hollow; one end is openfor the insertion of the plume, while two rivet holes below the lip would have secured the insertion in place. A blade-like flake, possibly a core rejuvination flake (debitage) dating to the prehistoric period, possibly the Mesolithic period. The secondary flake is made on a brown flint with the lateral edges showing some recortication. There are several long thin removals on the dorsal side. There is a post-depositional break at the proximal end which has removed any evidence of the bulb or platform, although some radiating fracture lines can be seen. An incomplete copper alloy Roman wiith high shoulders (AD c.43-200) nail cleaner, missing its suspension loop. Overall, the nail cleaner measures 27.6mm long, 12.3mm wide and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.95g. The nail cleaner is sub-triangular in plan with curving shoulders towards its top end and a bifurcated terminal at the bottom. It is flat throughout and undecorated on both faces. It appears to have been tinned.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy object of Anglo-Saxon date, possibly a fragment from a girdle hanger. It is rectangular in form, oval in section, and terminates at both ends in old breaks. The front face has punched decoration comprising a row of concentric crescents running up each side of the face. The back face is flat and undecorated. It measures 34.34mm in length, 6.56mm in width, 1.37mm in thickness and 2.00g in weight.
This is a small fragment probably from the shaft of a girdle hanger or similar object. It is of probable Anglo-Saxon date, c.5th-6th centuries AD.
