Copper alloy mount. Cast flat mount in the form of a heart with basal knop or droplet, and with two small prongs (of length exceeding 5mm, one is lost and the other lacks its tip) bent towards each other for attachment on the back. The edge is stepped with a finely billeted border. Spots of adherent grey metal suggest the display face was silvered or tinned, and the texturing at the border may have been intended to help retain this coating. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1550-1650. Length: 19.1mm, Width: 15.3mm, Thickness (clear of prongs): 2.0mm, Weight: 2.11gms.
