Medieval buckle (mid 12th to mid 13th centuries): The copper alloy buckle frame is a 'D' shape with a slightly narrowed and off-set strap bar. The loop of the frame tapers in width towards the strap bar, and is at its widest at the apex of the frame. The loop is obliquely angled on the upper surface and flat on the reverse. The surface is undecorated. The pin is wire and curled around the strap bar. The frame has a heavily abraded surface with no traces of a patina. It measures 18.99mm wide and 14.72mm long from the apex of the frame to the strap bar. It weighs 1.6g. Similar buckle…

Medieval copper alloy buckle with an integral plate, probably for use with a spur. The frame is oval. The plate tapers very slightly from the frame, past a pin hole and an iron-filled rivet hole. Its sides and inside edge are chamfered. It resembles examples from London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, nos. 484 and 486), but they are of iron and have two rivets. Length 24mm. Width 15mm. Width at the inside edge 6.6mm. 13th - 14th century.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Jews harp, probably Late Medieval to Post Medieval in date. In plan, the Jews harp consists of a sub-oval head loop with two tapering prongs projecting from an open side in the loop. Opposite the prongs, the rabbet would have been positioned on the inside of the oval loop to house the playable iron tang, now missing. The harp frame is lozengiform in cross-section, a shape characteristic of the instrument. There is iron corrosion visible at the rabbet from the iron tang, as well as the inner edges of the prongs. A Medieval pendant hanger or suspension mount from a horse harness pendant, probably dating to the 14th century AD. The suspension mount is roughly T-shaped in plan, with double-circular lugs with circular rivet holes on either side. Two raised rectangular ridges delineate the lugs from the centre of the mount, but do not seem to serve a practical function. It is pierced with a central, circular hole, of 8.3mm diameter; there is no cavity in the side wall. Both faces are decorated with a pattern of radial raised lines. The whorl is 27.8mm in diameter and 12mm thick. It weighs 33.02gm.

A small, cast copper alloy seal matrix dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1250 - 1400. The face of the seal matrix is oval. The device is of a flat topped shield blazoned with a bend (diagonal stripe from top left to bottom right, on the impression) on which are three or four overlapping marks, which are not clear enough to identify. The handle is conical, with a circular suspension loop at the top. The loop has a U shaped groove in the centre of the upper edge. The matrix is 11.6mm long, 9.7mm wide and 12.5mm high. It weighs 2.48gm. Compare HAMP-965776.

A complete lead trade weight of medieval to post-medieval date. The weight is shield shaped and is decorated on the upper surface with a crowned fleur-de-lis. The reverse is flat and undecorated. Lead weighs such as this were commonly used to weigh goods under the averdepois system from 1390 in England and were used throughout the 15th century. It is likely that these weights represent a desire to standardize the trade weight system. A slightly damaged pointed oval lead seal matrix dating to the medieval period, c. 1100 to 1350. The object is pointed oval shaped in plan with a sub-rectangular projection from the reverse which in some other cases has a hole through it to act as a suspension loop. The back of the object is undecorated. The front of the object features the central motif of an eight pointed star with a crescent moon. The inscription reads [S']THOE FIL ALANI (possibly translates as Seal of Thoe son of Alan).
