A complete copper alloy Medieval annular brooch dating from the 13th or 14th Century. The brooch frame is of twisted round cable pattern on both surfaced. The copper alloy pin sits within an pin constriction in the frame. The pin is of a different colour copper alloy and tapers sharp point. For similar examples see Egan and Pritchard (1991: 249; 1310-11) The brooch is 15.6mm in diameter, 1.5mm wide, 1.3mm thick and weighs 0.63 grams.

Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 5, flat wing ends type, Western Group), cf. Mackreth 2011, 5.b4.Plate 50. It has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which hold the spring support bar, the spring is made from eight curls, the pin is missing. There is a crest at the top of the head, the rear of which is pierced and holds the spring external cord. A band with a narrow wise decorate either wing. A recessed line runs down either side of the bow. The lower part of the bow is missing resulting in the loss of the catch plate. Date 80-120AD.

Copper alloy Polden Hill type brooch with Hod Hill influence. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which hold the spring support bar, the spring is made from eight curls, the pin is missing. The top half of the bow consists of a rectangular panel with triple raised band in the centre, this is flanked by two knops at the lower corners of the panel. The lower half of the bow is truncated resulting In the loss of the catch plate. Date 80-120AD

Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar (the right wing is truncated). Three sets of double vertical bands decorate the front of the wings, a double recessed band runs down the front of the head and most of the bow. The catch plate on the reverse is truncated. The bow of the is distorted and bent back on itself. Date A.D. 50-60.

Roman (AD c. 69-96) T-shaped brooch: The crossbar is tubular with a central slot to allow for the hinged pin. The pin is hinged on a copper alloy axis bar, and is incomplete. The crossbar is undecorated. The bow protrudes from the centre of the cross bar and is slightly hump-like and is sub-square in section. An incomplete copper-alloy oval plate brooch of Roman date. Only the central boss survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The front face has a central hollow, still containing traces of red enamel. The back face is flat and has traces of the adhesive that would have connected it to the now missing brooch. This brooch measures 13.92mm in length, 11.24mm in width, 3.59mm in thickness, 2.10g in weight. There are similar examples recorded by Hattatt (Hattatt, 1987, p. 257, 1207-1208).

A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating to the first or second century AD. The brooch has a head loop and three moulded ribs mid-way down the curved and tapered bow. The lower part of the brooch with the foot and the catchplate is now missing, as is the pin. It is unclear from the image if this is a hinged or springed brooch. Trumpet brooches with head loops date from c. AD 75-175.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman disc brooch dating to the second century AD. The brooch is circular in plan and is decorated with two fields of coloured enamel. The outer concentric field has the remains of a dark (now black) enamel. The centre of the brooch has raised cell edges that form an curved, open-armed cross. Each cell contains red enamel.
