An incomplete copper-alloy oval plate brooch of Roman date. Only the central boss survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
The front face has a central hollow, still containing traces of red enamel. The back face is flat and has traces of the adhesive that would have connected it to the now missing brooch.
This brooch measures 13.92mm in length, 11.24mm in width, 3.59mm in thickness, 2.10g in weight.
There are similar examples recorded by Hattatt (Hattatt, 1987, p. 257, 1207-1208).
