An incomplete iron possible girdle hanger or symbolic key of Early-Medieval date. It is missing part of the suspension loop due to old breaks, now worn.
It has a long shank which is rectangular in section and terminates with the remains of the now missing suspension loop. The terminal is split with two upturned prongs, which are rectangular in section and bend forward into oval shaped knops. This creates the letter 'W', with the central stem being the main shank.
This girdle hanger measures 109.79mm in length, 68.25mm in width, 14.36mm in width at the shank at the base, 7.22mm in width at the shank at the top, 14.43mm in thickness, 141.22g in weight.
There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (LIN-E7A961).

An incomplete and corroded iron barb-spring padlock of Roman to Medieval date. It is missing part of the padlock case due to old breaks, now worn.
It has a hollow rectangular padlock case. There is a rectangular hole at one end. This contains the remains of a separate iron rectangular bolt. At the opposite end is a sub-circular bar which is turned upwards to form a U-shape.
This padlock measures 110.30mm in length, 57.26mm in width, 23.76m in thickness, 161.89g in weight.
There is a similar example recorded by Manning (Manning, 1985, p. 91, no. 010). However, it could be of Roman to Medieval date.

It is T-shaped with a flat rectangular head. The stem is rectangular and tapers in thickness towards the base.
This chisel measures 81.94mm in length, 19.54mm in width at the head, 16.69mm in width at the stem, 11.03mm in thickness at the top of the stem, 3.18mm in thickness at the base of the stem, 46.20g in weight.
There are similar examples recorded by Manning (Manning, 1985, p. 9, no. A22). However, this chisel could be of Roman date onwards.
