An incomplete iron possible girdle hanger or symbolic key of Early-Medieval date. It is missing part of the suspension loop due to old breaks, now worn.
It has a long shank which is rectangular in section and terminates with the remains of the now missing suspension loop. The terminal is split with two upturned prongs, which are rectangular in section and bend forward into oval shaped knops. This creates the letter 'W', with the central stem being the main shank.
