A Roman brooch of Colchester derivative,Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Western Group), cf. Mackreth 2011, 5.a4. Plate 50, no. 1585. (AD c. 80-120): The incomplete copper alloy brooch has wings which are semi-cylindrical terminating with perforated wing caps. The wings are decorated with two pairs of double-stranded linear grooves on each. At the junction of the wings and bow head there is an integral perorated lug which holds the chord in place.
