An incomplete cast copper alloy rowel spur dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). The spur is formed of two curved arms, both of which are incomplete, the neck and box of a rowel spur. The arms are D-shaped in cross section and curved. The neck of the object is lozenge shaped in cross-section and curves downwards towards the split terminal. Each side of the terminal contains a rivet hole which would have attached to the rowel.
One arm is decorated with a double row of spirals consisting of a series of punched c-shapes. Each row is divided by a series of small vertical incised lines. The row is interrupted by what appears to be an anthropomorphic form consisting of an oval head, punched oval eyes and a short rounded body. Either side of the head are what appear to be wings. The arm of the object thickens slightly at this point. The vertical lines continue after the figure to where the arm terminates with a break. The design on the shorter arm appears to have mirrored this decoration. The neck of the object is decorated with diagonal lines of punched c's.
The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition. The breaks appear to have occurred during antiquity.

A cast copper alloy harness pendant dating to the medieval period. The object is heater or shield shaped in plan with a transverse projection loop at the top. The loop has an internal diameter of 2.11mm. The remains of a heraldic device can be seen on the outer face. The pendant appears to bear the blazon 'gules, three lions passant guardant. A small area of gilding remains on the tail of a lion. The object has a dark green patina.
These are the Royal Arms of England, issued during the reign of Richard I (AD 1189-199) and not altered since. It is likely that this pendant would have belonged on the harnesses of horses belonging to retainers or workers of royal lands and estates during the 13th and 14th century AD.
