An incomplete and worn post-Medieval silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), minted at London. Initial mark: ermine, dated 1572 on coin (North 1991, 135, ref: 1998).
Obverse: ELIZABETH.D.G ANG FR ET.HI REGINA; Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head
Reverse: POSVI/DEV.AD/IVTORE/M.MEV. (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1572 above shield
