Incomplete, probable single loop copper alloy Medieval buckle consisting of a folded copper alloy plate with three copper rivets for attachment. Two of which have pulled through the plate. One rivet is fixed to both sides of the plate and contains a burr which suggests a possible repair. There is a fragmented central pinbar, probably from a single loop buckle. A folded, sheet copper alloy pin remains in situ. The front of the buckle plate is decorated in a light coloured enamel with a geometric design similar to a snowflake. Copper alloy double oval buckle frame with a narrowed triangular-section strap bar. A copper alloy pin which appears to be reused is in situ. The outside edge of each loop is scalloped forming seven foils defined by deep transverse grooves, with slightly shallower transverse grooves between. The frame is concave. Condition is good with a patchy green patina. The reverse face of the buckle is plain and flat. Whitehead dates buckles of this type to circa 1450-1600 AD. Dimensions:Length: 30.46 mm, Width: 30.92 mm, Thickness: 2.52 mm and it Weighs: 6.78 grammes

A worn and corroded iron dove type horseshoe from the medieval period. The branches are unequal in length with one heel tapered. There are three nail holes to each branch which are sub-rectangular with four square headed nails in situ. The nail heads are designed to protrude from the shoe. The shoe is almost flat in plan with the heels inclined upwards, there is no evidence of thickening or calkins. A complete cast copper alloy Post-Medieval dress fastener (c. 1500-1700 AD). The fastener consists of a trapezoidal sewing loop with a sub-rectangular perforation, arroximately 5.1 mm in length. The plate is a five-petalled flower with a central circular depression. Between the flower plate and the hook, there is a small sub-circular perforation; a thin integrally cast rounded hook, semi-circular in cross-section, which tapers to a point. It measures 33.7 in length, 15.5 mm wide, 2.6 mm thick and weighs 3.57 g.

A surface deposit of fine orange coloured sand is visible in some of the recesses.

An incomplete medieval (c.1270-1340) copper alloy armorial shield-shaped horse harness pendant displaying the arms of England before 1340, with a (broken and damaged) loop turned through 90degrees and remains of a decaying enamel with traces of gilding. It measures 30.19mm in length, 18.01mm in width, 8.47mm in depth and weighs 4.77g. The shield is 22.52mm tall and 2.41mm thick. The loop is slightly offset and distorted. Blazon: Gules three lions passant guardant (probably Or). The use of enamel suggests a date from c.1270.

A Medieval copper alloy simple bar mount, measuring 15.56x6.56x3.43mm and weighing 0.76g. The mount is D-shaped in cross-section, being flat to the reverse and curving to the front with a central 2.59mm wide mid-rib with a rivet hole at either end, complete with separate, in situ rivets (max.3.43mm in length, the max.depth of the object, and 1.3mm in diameter). A narrow flange flanks the long edges of the object, which measures 1.53mm in thickness. Comparable simple bar mounts from excavations in London (Egan 1991, pp.211-13) are dated between 1270 and 1450.

The bit has two worn clefts one on either side resulting in one long simple ward. The ward measures 8.55mm in width and 4.46mm in length. File marks are visible on one face on the base of the bow where the patina remains. The object has a dark brownish green patina. Similar examples can be found on p72, Read, (2001). A cast copper alloy hooked mount dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The object consists of a rectangular bar and a rearward facing hook which is almost complete. The bar and hook are rectangular in cross-section. Two circular rivet holes perforate the bar, the upper of which is slightly larger with an internal diameter of 2.91mm, while the lower one measures 2.46mm in diameter. The tip of the hook is missing. The object is light green and corroded and can be dated from AD 1200-1400.

A cast lead spindle whorl of Medieval date, c. 1200-1500. The spindle whorl is biconical with a hole through the centre. Each face is decorated, but differently. One face bears six panels separated by a raised line, with two panels each bearing in sequence one raised dot, two raised dots, and three raised dots. The oppositie side also bears six panels, but each of these contain four raised dots, and two parallel lines circumvent the central hole, connecting the dots and panels.

A rim fragment of Medieval/ Post-Medieval (1200-1800) copper alloy cooking vessel, measuring 50.78x28.75x4.30mm and weighing 21.80g. The outside edge is slightly concave and retains traces of black/ sooting on the outside surface (from being used in an open fire). The rim has a pronounced angle to the outside edge and is convex to the internal edge. Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c.1200-1800 for serving and cooking. Two fragments of what appears to have been the same copper-alloy vessel. The first fragment is from the base. The foot is circular and measures 25mm in diameter. The vessel wall flares outwards from this. Contained within the interior of the base is a fine grained, dense and solid mass. The second fragment appears to be from the shoulder of the vessel; in profile it has a curve around a midrib, and then angles abuptly. The same hard mass is also present on the interior.
