A Modern coin; a possible imitation milled shilling of George III dated 1820 and stamped with a letter T in the neck. The coin looks like a New Coinage shilling of 1820, number 3790 in Spink's Standard Catalogue. However, the coin is a millimetre larger than the one illustrated in Spink, at 23.6mm diameter and 1.6mm thick, 5.6g. It has a Roman, serifed T stamped sideways on the neck, the base towards the right of the coin. There is also a dent in the top edge of the coin. In other respects, the coin is in very good condition, though the silver has patinated to a dark brown colour. …
