Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A strap or dress fitting made from a copper-alloy jetton of the Medieval period, c. 1300-1500. The jetton is too worn to be identified, though some minor detail survives. The reverse was used as the face of the fitting, and this bore a longcross with possible florettes made from pellets shapes in each quarter and an illegible inscription quartered around the outside. A lozenge-shaped strip of copper alloy was riveted to the obverse of the jetton, and the ends hooked inward to attach this fitting, though the hooked ends…

A row of alternating red and blue enamel squares runs up the centre of the bow. The arms are square in appearance (facing forward) and D-shaped in section, with the flat face forward. Each arm bears a vertical arrangement of three small rectangular fi…

An incomplete copper-alloy harness pendant of medieval date, c. AD 1150-1350. The harness pendant consists of a rectangular hanger that is only slightly decorated with a narrow groove across the middle width, separating the head of the hanger from the hinged suspension lug. The reverse of the hanger has a shank of rectangular section that appears to have an abraded break at its end. The pendant suspends from the hanger from a shank positioned in the centre of the upper edge of a shield-shape. The tip of the shield is missing, and the surface has been considerably worn, but e…
