An ornate copper alloy post medieval book clasp or fitting dating to the period c. AD 1590 - 1700. The book plate consists of a folded copper alloy plate with an openwork foliate design which is folded around a sub-circular sectioned axis bar to create a sub-triangular upper and lower plate. Between these two plates is a sub-rectangular projection with a hooked end which is attached to the upper plate by an iron rivet visible as a patch of corrosion on the upper plate. The lower plate features two circular rivet holes with iron rivets still visible as patches of corrosion.

Copper alloy Roman incomplete headstud brooch. Only the bottom part of the bow survives. A groove runs down either edge of the outer face with closely-spaced transverse grooves in between. The bow culminates in a semi-circular foot knob with a collar above. To the reverse is a damaged, curved catch-plate. Post-Conquest to early second century AD in date. A cast copper alloy double looped buckle dating to the Post-Medieval period. The object is asymmetrical in plan and D shaped in cross-section. The rounded end of the object has a lobed projection on the internal edge of the frame. The pin is missing. The object has a light green patina and is corroded. There is no visible decoration. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p91. It can be dated from Ad c.1575-1700.

A copper-alloy Roman Nauheim derivative brooch. The head, formed from wire looped into a coil, is now distorted. The bow is narrow, slightly curved and expands towards the foot. The foot is missing, but traces of the catchplate suggest that this would have extended down at a right-angle to the bow. Hull Type 11B. Pre-Conquest to early post-Conquest date. An incomplete copper alloy Late Iron Age to early Roman Colchester brooch. The head has signs of transverse grooving on the outer face. To the rear are two loops, one still containing part of the chord. The rest of the spring and pin are missing. The bow tapers to a point and the remains of a triangular catchplate survive to the reverse. Several similar examples are illustrated by Bayley and Butcher (2004, p.63, 54ff), who suggest that this type was first manufactured prior to the Roman conquest of Britain, but continued in use into the middle years of the 1st century AD (ibid., 14…

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy drape ring (c. 1270-c. 1450). The curved part of the hook is missing. The ring is circular in plan, bevelled internally on both faces and is rounded on the outside. The shaft of the hook is flat with rounded sides. Post Medieval? copper alloy dress fastener, possibly clothing or clogs? 32mm long, 27mm wide and 1mm thick, with a weight of 4.26 grams. The object consists of flat sub rectangular, angular plate which has a row of pressed (repousse) domes in a line near its centre. Above this, in a trapezoidal section, is arectangular opening centrally placed. Below the object is triangular and has a small circular fixing hole near its apex.

A copper alloy double looped, 'spectacle' type buckle dating to the medieval period. The buckle is missing its pin but is otherwise complete. It is undecorated. These buckles were in use for a few hundred years so it is not always possible to date them accurately, however this example probably dates from c. AD 1350-1500.

A worn copper alloy annular buckle, now distorted, probably dating to the medieval period. The buckle has a D-shaped section and no constriction for the pin. The cross-section indicates that this is likely to be a buckle rather than a harness ring. Annular buckles like this were common between AD 1250-1450.
