An elaborate but incomplete early Roman bow and fantail brooch. The wings are rectangular and contain a cylindrical cover on the reverse. An incomplete loop is located above. The hinged pin is intact, but the shank is missing.The bow arches from the wings and expands to a large circular boss. The sides of the boss both have two rounded knops. The boss is decorated with an outer recessed band containing degraded yellow-brown coloured enamel. The centre of the boss contains a circular reel comprising six triangular cells. It is likely that these contained enamel, but none now survives. …

A fragment of a Middle or Late Bronze Age dirk or rapier dating to the period c. 1300 - 900 BC. The fragment consists only of part of the shoulders and the top of the blade. It measures 104.97mm in length, 35.07mm maximum width, 11.22mm minimum width, is 4.34mm thick and weighs 46.81g. The fragment is sub-triangular in plan and rectangular in section. The shoulders are rounded and narrow into the rectangular blade. The fragment is badly damaged on all sides by a series of old breaks and is covered in brown and green corrosion products.

An incomplete copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of Medieval date. It is missing the pin. The frame is D-shaped in section with a slightly expanded outer edge. The bar is central and trapezoidal in section. This buckle frame measures 23.56mm in length, 19.43mm in width, 2.39mm in thickness, 2.38g in weight. There are similar examples from London (Egan and Prichard, 1991, p. 83, no. 337, 339).

Cast bow and fantail brooch; cf Mackreth type TR 4.1a - Mackreth also notes (2011, vol. 1 page 126) the probable relationship between this brooch type and the Aesica and Rosette brooches. Tubular plain wings are clenched behind to retain an axis bar and the stub of a hinged pin. The wings are met by a thin bow with the stub of a discontinuous ridge at its crest.
