A buckle plate from a composite medieval buckle dating to the period c. AD 1350 - 1400. The Plate consists of a broadly ovular buckle loop with a triangular pin rest projecting from the outer edge. A grooved pin bar sits at the back of the buckle loop. The pin is looped around the pin bar and terminates in an old break. The buckle then splits into two projections which are triangular in plan and square in section. The buckle plate measures 46.56mm in length, 18.76mm maximim width, 1.11mm minimum width, is 5.38mm thick and weighs 4.11g.

A tinned copper alloy post medieval asymmetrical flat mount dating to the period c. AD 1550 - 1700. The mount consists of a central lobe broadly trapezoidal in shape which narrows towards the top and is separated by a horizontal groove from a sub-ovular lobe which is in turn separated by a groove from a smaller sub-circular lobe. Below the wide end of the central trapeziodal lobe the mount narrows and terminates in a sub-triangular lobe. The reverse of the mount is flat and features one intact integral hemispherical loop and a cylindrical integral lug which terminates in an old break.…
