A Roman contemporary silver-plated copper alloy copy of a silver denarius of Tiberius, dating from AD 14-37 (Reece period 1). Undated denarius type. PONTIF MAXIM reverse type depicting a female figure seated right, with right holding long vertical sceptre, left hand holding branch, on chair with decorated legs, and a single line below. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC I, p. 95, no. 30.
It is possible to see the copper-alloy core coming through areas of silvering or silver-plating on both coin surfaces.
