A post-Medieval copper-alloy strap mount. The flat-sectioned mount takes the form of a latin cross, the central column of which is comprised of (from top to bottom) a suboval lobe, two moulded flower heads and a pointed-oval leaf. A lobe decorated with a bifurcating swirl projects horizontally outwards on either side of the uppermost flower head, creating the two cross arms. The reverse has two circular-sectioned rivets, one located above the other. Traces of gilding can be seen on the upper surface of the mount. A copper-alloy cloisonné-enamelled brooch, probably dating from the Late Early-Medieval period. The brooch consists of a disc with a raised circular setting. The inset is contained within a copper-alloy ring, the individual cells within its geometric design bordered by bent strips of copper-alloy. This design takes the form of a stylised flower head in which an equal-armed cross, filled with orange enamel, is surrounded by four oval petals, each containing a light blue inset. The distal end of each cross arm flares into a drop-shaped petal, two of which are set with dark blue inse…

An iron and copper-alloy artefact, possibly representing part of a Late Iron Age to Early Roman 'Birdlip' type brooch. The main portion of the artefact is of iron, with a bow-shaped copper-alloy moulding having been sleeved on to this and located one third of the way along its length. The lower two thirds of the iron portion has a flat upper surface and straight sides which converge to point. An incised pattern of herringbone decoration extends the length of this upper surface, surviving most clearly at the top. A right-angled projection is located on the underside of this portion.…

At one end this bar flares into a suboval plate, damaged at its base, its upper surface decorated by a relief-moulded figure, who stands to the right. At the back the folded bar flares into a plain, shield-shaped plate, the tip of which is located a short distance from the back of the upper plate. Length: 28.8mm; width: 12.9mm; total thickne…
